Why the Liner Comes First

Lipstick almost always fails at the edges before it fails anywhere else. A liner drawn along the lip border gives the colour something to stop against, so it holds its shape instead of feathering out into the skin around the mouth.

It also lets you correct the shape a little. Drawing just outside the natural line at the centre of the upper lip makes the mouth look fuller. Staying just inside it does the opposite.

If you only buy one, buy a brown close to your natural lip colour. Natural 07 and Basic Brown 15 sit under most shades without fighting them.

Using It With Your Lipstick

Line the border, then fill the whole lip with the pencil before you put lipstick over it. Filling in means that when the Glossy Lipstick or the Liquid Lipstick wears off through a meal, there is colour underneath rather than bare lip inside a drawn outline.

Keep the tip sharp with the dual pencil sharpener at ৳80. A blunt liner cannot draw a clean border, which is the entire point of using one.
