What the Finish Looks Like
It is a creamy bullet lipstick with a shiny finish. The shine catches light across the lip, which makes lips look a little fuller than a flat matte would. Jackelin describes the formula as containing vitamin E.
Of the three lipsticks we carry, this one is the kindest to dry lips. It does not cling to flakes and it does not tighten through the day. The trade-off is wear time. A glossy finish needs a touch up after a meal.

Choosing a Shade Without a Tester
Look at the veins on the inside of your wrist in daylight. Greenish veins usually mean a warm undertone, so honeys, corals and warm reds sit well. Bluish or purple veins point to a cool undertone, where pinks, mauves and blue based reds look more natural. If you cannot tell, you are probably neutral and most shades will work.
Fair skin suits Angel Pink 01, Nearly Nude 102 and Iced Mauve 126. Medium and olive skin has the widest choice, including Honey 25, Golden rose 100, Chestnut 86 and Red 37. Deep skin holds saturated colour best, so look at Chocolate 12, Maroon 130, Wine 50 and Egg plant 127.
Getting It to Last
- Balm first, then blot. Balm stops dryness, but leftover grease stops colour gripping.
- Line the lip before you fill it. Colour usually fails at the edges first. The Jackelin Lipliner Pencil is ৳250.
- Two thin coats beat one thick one. Blot with a tissue in between.
- Keep it away from heat. A lipstick left in a car in Dhaka summer will soften and lose its shape.

If your day runs long and you will not get to reapply, the Jackelin Liquid Lipstick at ৳375 holds better, though it is harder on dry lips. The Colourgirl Pencil Lipstick at ৳250 is the easier one to apply neatly. All three sit together in the lipstick range.
